A.tronic is alive. Since spring 2012 André Nendza has been working with a new line-up. Between songs and sounds the musicians of A.tronic create an extraordinary versatile programme ranging from danceable tunes to thoughtful songs. Happily caught between two stools.

With “tangible” A.tronic finally transcends the frontiers of the jazz world and is constantly moving towards a specifically autonomous sound which cannot be captured with conventional stylistic labels. “A mixture of jazz funk, 80s pop, progressive rock and singer songwriter music played by musicians who more or less deal with jazz” – an attempt with extremely little advertising appeal – makes pigeonholing a yesterday´s activity.

Twelve new prehensile songs resolve the debated issue. It is not about abstraction, taking wings or disguise. It is about a clear band sound and a direct statement. Carefully aligned guitar colours and absolutely precise bass and drums encase the wonderfully manifold voice of Franziska Loos.
